NASA must devise a strategy to return Apollo 13 to Earth safely after the spacecraft undergoes massive internal damage, putting the lives of the three astronauts on board in jeopardy. Director Ron Howard and a well-cast crew of astronauts expertly recreate the suspense and heroism of this dangerous mission.

We welcome Oscar-nominated screenwriter William Broyles (APOLLO 13, CAST AWAY) to co-introduce our screening of APOLLO 13 with Film Programmer, Stephen Jannise. William Broyles grew up in Baytown, Texas, attended Rice University and Oxford University, worked in the civil rights movement, and finished out the Sixties as a Marine infantry lieutenant in Vietnam. As a journalist he was the founding editor of Texas Monthly and editor-in-chief of Newsweek. He was the co-creator of the Emmy-Award-winning series China Beach and the current series SIX. He wrote the original screenplay for the movie Cast Away and the screenplay for Jarhead. He has co-authored six other produced screenplays, including Unfaithful, The Polar Express, Flags of Our Fathers, and Apollo 13, which was nominated for an Academy Award for best screenplay.

Event Parking Information
$5 parking is available to film series goers courtesy of 600 Congress. Conveniently located one block from the theatres. The parking garage entrance is on 7th Street, between Congress Ave and Colorado Street. Pull a ticket when entering the garage, then purchase the $5 QR code voucher from our Box Office/bar to use when exiting (or you will be charged the $10 evening rate.)
