Directed by Alfred Hitchcock.
Ivor Novello, Marie Ault, and Arthur Chesney.

In this, his third silent film and first masterpiece, Hitchcock was already reaching the pinnacle of cinematic suspense, even without the use of sound. A landlady suspects that her new tenant, the mysterious Ivor Novello, might be the murderer who has been terrorizing the town in this narratively thrilling and visually stunning film.

Graham Reynolds will accompany the film with an original live score commissioned exclusively for the Paramount Summer Classic Film Series.

Graham Reynolds, called “the quintessential modern composer” by the London Independent, Austin-based composer/bandleader Graham Reynolds creates, performs and records music for film, theater, dance, rock clubs and concert halls with collaborators ranging from Richard Linklater and Jack Black to DJ Spooky and Ballet Austin. The Mother Falcon String Quartet is comprised of two members of the local orchestral band Mother Falcon, joined by guests Lexi Cardenas on violin and Alejandro Duque on viola.

Clara Brill, violininst, and Diana Burgess, cellist, have played with Mother Falcon for over 7 years and tour regularly with the band. The two have contributed extensively to the writing and arranging process, and collaborated to compile a songbook of Mother Falcon songs arranged for string quartet. As active members of the music education community in Austin, Mother Falcon is in its 7th season of the Mother Falcon Music Lab, a creative songwriting summer camp, where Clara serves as Program Director and Diana as Outreach Director. Both graduated with music performance degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, Clara with her Masters and Diana with her Bachelor's.

Lexi Cardenas is a violinist, composer, and singer-songwriter. She began playing the violin at age 7 in El Paso, TX. In 2005, she moved to Central Texas to study violin performance at Texas State University, where she began to dabble in chamber music, improvisation, and rock violin. Lexi currently resides in Austin where she teaches violin, plays in regional symphonies, and fronts indie rock band Lexi and the Bleached Roses.

Hailing from San Antonio, Alejando Duque is currently a member of the Austin Symphony. He has performed at numerous music festivals such as the Tanglewood Music Center, Aspen Music Festival, Music Academy of the West, and the New York String Orchestra Seminar. Alejandro received his Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Southern California under the mentorship of Donald McInnes, and most recently his Master of Music degree at UT Austin under Roger Myers.

They are joined by drummer Jeremy Bruch.
