My Man Godfrey

1936 | 94 min. | B&W | DCP
Director: Gregory La Cava
Cast: William Powell, Carole Lombard, and Alice Brady

When a scavenger hunt brings drunken socialites to the city dump looking for forgotten men, Carole Lombard becomes so enamored with down-on-his-luck William Powell that she hires him as the family butler in this deliriously funny screwball comedy. Powell is as dignified and funny as ever, and Lombard shines as a seemingly flighty heiress who knows exactly what she’s doing.
