Iron and Wine’s Nonesuch Records debut, Ghost on Ghost, was released earlier this spring. It is the fifth release from singer-songwriter Sam Beam using the pen name Iron and Wine. The album was produced by Beam’s longtime associate Brian Deck (Modest Mouse, Califone, Fruit Bats) and follows 2011’s Kiss Each Other Clean. Ghost on Ghost has received critical acclaim, with NPR Music calling Beam “a songwriter versatile enough to pack huge ideas into simple arrangements and vice versa.” Iron and Wine, who have been touring in support of Ghost on Ghost, have added additional dates for the fall, including shows in Chicago, Minneapolis, Seattle, and Portland.
Redemption: The No Kill Revolution in America
Shelter killing is the leading cause of death for healthy dogs and cats in the United States. It doesn't have to be. When the early founders of the animal protection movement died and their organizations took over the job of killing those they had been formed to protect, a fiery zeal was replaced with a smoldering ember that gave little light or warmth and the humane movement went to sleep. After over 100 years of this antiquated and deadly paradigm, the grassroots of the animal protection movement is finally waking up. Starting with the founding of the first SPCA in North America by Henry Bergh and continuing to this very day, Redemption is the story of heroes and villains, betrayal and redemption. But most of all, it is the story of believing in the community and trusting in the power of compassion.

BROAD CITY LIVE
These two talented broads, Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, who have been described as “passionate, funny and sometimes raunchy” by The New York Times, are hitting the road with the Broad City Live Tour. The pair’s dynamic relationship, combined with their impeccable comedic timing and chemistry, has earned Jacobson and Glazer praise from The Wall Street Journal, Time Out NY, Entertainment Weekly and AV Club, among others.
“Broad City” is a weekly, half-hour scripted series featuring Upright Citizens Brigade alums Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer airing Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central. The series is an odd couple comedy about two best friends navigating their twenties in New York City whose adventures always lead down unexpected and outlandish paths. They’re broke, flawed and don’t shy away from the sticky situations NYC throws at them -- they dive right into the muck. But no matter how bad it gets, these young broads are always down with whatever hits them.
